Silver Polar Bear and Cub

The Silver Polar Bear and Cub coin, minted by the Royal Canadian Mint, pays homage to the magnificent polar bear, the largest land carnivore on Earth. This animal is another representative of Canada’s rich fauna, with 15,000 out of the world’s 25,000 polar bears dwelling in the Arctic regions of this country. These special natural ties to Canada were the reason for picking the image of a polar bear mother and her cub for the coin’s reverse. In turn, the obverse features the famous side portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. Containing 1.5 oz. of 99.99% silver, this coin holds both investment and collectible value.
